never completed any of the others girl's routes in Extra because they weren't Meiya and I had no interest. The first time I played Extra (July 2018) I quickly fell for Meiya, but I didn't fully grasp how the choice system worked and ended up on a fishing boat with Mikoto.Īfter completing Meiya's route, I reluctantly did Sumika's route despite her being one of the most annoying characters ever created, because I had heard you needed to complete both to move on to Unlimited and get the most out of Alternative.Īnyway. I didn't have much experience in VN's at all, usually playing hard-core strategy games and RPG's. I knew nothing about Muv-Luv until two summers ago. I actually did run through Extra again last month. It's also possible I'm becoming too emotionally invested in a visual novel. It's just that I really needed a nice romantic sendoff with Meiya right now. feeling so empty right now when I expected my spirits to be uplifted a bit. So my question is: was this caused by the removal of the adult content? Does the original Altered Fable have endings much more satisfying, where Takeru (and by, extension, me, all right, yes, I want Meiya) comes to his sense and he and Meiya consumate their relationship? I don't want several more endings of Takeru behaving like a 12-year-old boy who thinks "stinky girls - yucky!" Now, I'm not even sure I'll play through the other routes. And he still doesn't tell her he just thinks it to himself.Īnd while I realize this is meant to be a comedy, it was still irritating when they were interrupted each time they were on the verge of kissing. There doesn't even have to be a sex scene just Takeru admitting he loves Meiya, kissing her, and then the sex can be implied as the camera view moves to the ceiling.Īs it is, the only time Takeru admits to loving Meiya, it's during his dream sequence. I wanted to see Takeru and Meiya connecting and ending up together. I'm being sappy, but all I wanted was a nice, romantic love story ending like in Muv Luv Extra. Really? The story ends with Takeru locked in a room with Meiya, frantically trying to get out while fending off her advances? Huh? After what happened during his birthday, what happened while trapped in the cabin, how the sight of her licking a popsicle drove him crazy, the dream sequence, he still doesn't. Still sadly VN is heads over manga, but if you can't simply read VN, go ahead with manga and "enjoy" world where humanity struggle, and are trying to avoid path of extinction.I just completed my first run-through of Shimmering Shard of Space Time, the Meiya route (because no other women matters) and I have to say, I'm. It is still WORTH reading (I can't recall any good manga recently that had same lvl of action as this one, and so well build characters).
#Muv luv alternative if you scream series#
If you love series like Gundam, Evangelion -> VN and prequels is MUST READ. Little gore moment (well that one hopefully won't be in manga)).

So if you have spare time, I'd really suggest you to read VN due to fact that it has more in it, also it is worth to read prestories (Unlimited and Extra) cause there are sometimes things that would be immpossible to understand unless you read these 2 previous firstly (on the first hand tho you will be totally amazed HOW from Extra -> a funny, romance story, we have got something like Alternative that is rather sad, sad, and SAD story (in the end) with awesome action, great characters and a Manga itself is great, though visual novel brings a bit more enjoyment.
